You want great photos, but you’re stressed about what to wear to your photoshoot. I understand! My advice is to keep it simple, stay true to yourself, and relax!
Here's an easy guide to help you choose clothes and prep for a fun photoshoot.
Wear What Feels Like You
Feeling comfy and confident is the secret to great photos.
Choose Neutral or Natural Colors
Colours like beige, olive, cream, or soft blues - will blend well with any background and keep the focus on you. Skip bright neons or loud patterns that might distract.
Avoid Logos and Branding
Clothes with big logos or graphics - stick to simple, clean pieces to keep the focus on you.
Add Some Texture
Textures like denim, wool, linen, lace, or cotton will look good in pictures.
For Ladies: Dress or not?
If you like to wear a dress, choose a long, flowing one in a solid colour or with small, subtle pattern. Big, bold prints will steal the focus. If you are not a dress person, just go with your favourite jeans, top, or whatever that makes you happy.
For Men: Simple and Sharp
Keep it easy and neat. A solid-colored t-shirt or button-up shirt in beige, olive, cream, or blue looks great, with clean shorts or pants for a laid-back but polished style.
For Kids: Keep Them Comfy
Happy kids make happy photos! Choose outfits your kids love and feel good in - something soft and easy to move in. Skip stiff, formal clothes that might make them grumpy.
Prepping for Babies: For newborns, have an outfit ready and stay flexible. Babies have their own schedules - sleeping, eating or cuddling. I'll work around their routine for those precious moments.
Prepping for Toddlers: Pack clean snacks like cheese, crackers, or apple slices - avoid messy foods like berries or chocolate. Bring a spare outfit in case of any mess.
Family Photos: Coordinate, Don't Match!
Pick outfits that go well together but aren't identical. Try a shared colour scheme, like earthy tones or soft pastels, to tie everyone together.
Just Relax and Have Fun
These are just tips! Remember that you are the heart of this photoshoot, not your outfit. I'll guide you with prompts and conversation to keep things relaxed and natural!
