I Did It! My First 365 Photo Project Journey

Completing my first 365 photo project feels like crossing the finish line of a year-long marathon! Flipping through my collection of 365 photos is like opening a time capsule—a photo journal filled with memories that make me smile. Here’s my story, the challenges I faced, and why you should consider starting your own 365 project.

What Is a 365 Photo Project?

A 365 photo project is super simple: you take one photo every single day for a whole year and share it. It’s like keeping a daily diary with pictures! For me, it was a fun way to save special memories of my kids growing up and to get better at snapping photos.

The Journey: From Challenge to Routine

When I started, the project felt tough. Coming up with fresh ideas daily, finding time to edit, and posting consistently was a big challenge. I’d bring my heavy camera on vacations for those crisp, high-quality shots, use the Lightroom mobile app for editing, and often stay up late to edit and post my photo before bed. Some days felt repetitive, and I struggled to find unique angles or lighting to keep things fresh.

But as the months passed, something shifted. What once felt like “homework” became a natural part of my day. Snapping a photo and sharing it turned into a seamless routine, like brushing my teeth or having my morning coffee.

The Rewards: A Year of Memories

Looking back at my photo collection, I’m super thankful. Each image captures a moment—big or small—that tells the story of my family’s year. These photos aren’t just pictures; they’re a visual diary of love, growth, and everyday happiness.

Tips for Starting Your Own 365 Photo Project
