I recently enjoyed a memorable photoshoot with a family of three from Singapore, which took place in the busy streets of Central to showcase the city’s iconic scenery and lively atmosphere. Here’s a look at our adventure!
Kicking off at Tai Kwun
Our first stop was at Tai Kwun, which featured brick walls and modern minimalist design ideal for chic, modern shots. The family was keen to explore the building and learn the history behind the police station turned arts and culture museum.
Riding the Central Escalator to Street Markets
Next, we took the famous Central-Mid-Levels Escalator down to the street market, and adventured through local stalls and restaurants. We paused for a refreshing cold milk tea, a must-try Hong Kong drink!
Strolling Along Pottinger Street (The Rocky Road)
Next, we strolled at Pottinger Street, also known as “Rocky Road” for its uneven stone steps. This historic street, lined with shops selling Chinese antiques and Halloween costumes, added a fun, cultural vibe to our photos. The unique setting made for lively, storytelling shots.
Visiting the Modern Central Market
We then walked across a pedestrian bridge to the newly renovated Central Market. Once a fresh food market, it’s now a trendy spot with local food and clothing brands. The staircase inside Central Market is a popular photo spot.
Snapping Pics with Iconic Hong Kong Transport
To end the shoot, we rode the Star Ferry to Tsim Sha Tsui, with Victoria Harbour’s skyline as a stunning backdrop for our last shots.
This Hong Kong photoshoot with Gael's family was a blast! From historic sites to busy markets and iconic transport, we created family memories they’ll treasure forever. If you're planning a photoshoot in Hong Kong, think about including Central as one of your potential locations!
