Celebrating Pre-Nursery Milestones: A Joyful Photoshoot for Tyler and Friends at Disney Inspiration Lake Park

As a mom and photographer, one of my greatest joys is capturing the little milestones of my kids and their friends. Each photo tells a story, turning fading happy moments into cherished memories. Last June, I had the pleasure of hosting a special photoshoot for my son Tyler and his pre-nursery classmates as they wrapped up an exciting school year. This bittersweet moment was filled with joy and nostalgia, especially as we said goodbye to some friends moving on to different schools.

Building Connections Through Photography

Throughout the school year, Tyler and I developed close relationships with the kids and their parents. It felt like one big happy family, making it even harder to part ways. To celebrate this special time, I wanted to create lasting memories before everyone went off on their new adventures.

We chose Disney Inspiration Lake Park as the perfect location for our photoshoot. The spacious park, surrounded by beautiful water and grassy areas, offered a variety of fantastic backdrops—like a cute little bridge and a vibrant blue wall for memorable photos.

Making the Photoshoot Fun for Kids

Handling a group of 11 energetic three-year-olds can be quite a challenge, but I’ve learned that the secret to success is to make the photoshoot fun! This is where all the genuine smiles and connections happen. When kids are enjoying themselves, their joy shines through in every shot, resulting in candid moments that truly capture their personalities.

On the big day, I was delighted at how well the kids listened and followed along. To keep the energy high, I organized several playful games: flying foam airplanes, a run race, and a grand tug-o-war to finish it off. The laughter and excitement filled the air, and the kids were having so much fun that they hardly even noticed it was a photoshoot!

Creating Lasting Memories

What a memorable day it turned out to be! We captured countless wonderful moments, and I hope these photos will bring joy to these kids as they grow up. I want them to look back and fondly remember the friendships they made during their first year of school.

As a small thank-you gift for the participants, I printed mounted photos for each child. My hope is that they'll proudly display these pictures in their bedrooms, so they always remember their friends, no matter where life takes them.
